I actually don't have much to say about my trip to The Outer Banks of NC. I was able to sleep peacefully. Being awake wasn't so peaceful. Not my crowd, but just as John asked me... what is my crowd?
Tomorrow I'm back to work and I'm really not ready. I need a bigger break. Sometimes a week just isn't enough.
My store has dropped in volume dramatically since I left. It looks like I'm not going to make goal now, when at one point I was 30% up.
I left at 14% up. I come back to 5% up.
    Ugh.
I'm due in at 10:30am. I'll be going in at 9 or so to take care of the inevitable pile of crap on my desk I'm going to have to deal with.
This is going to be a tough month.

I hope you enjoy the pictures. Perhaps you'll drift away for a few minutes and have your own little vacation.

    Hi, what's your name?
    "Akiko"
Well hello, Akiko... My name's Ronald. Would you like to meet my good friends Grimace and Hamburglar?

Tonight I was reminded of why I don't ever attempt to have any parties.
    No one would come.

Excuse me while I wallow in my self-pity....
I've said it before and I'll say it again. You all suck.

Thanks to Becky (who brought Alaina) and Dan (who brought Stephanie) the party wasn't a *complete* flop.
Of course, Alaina left an hour later and Dan/Steph stayed for about 2 hours.
So by 10:30, the party had officially ended never to be resurrected again.
    Happy Housewarming!
I'm sure some of you may be baffled as you didn't even know there was a party. Well, it was an invite only. I was trying for just the 'young' crowd tonight. No parents, family, or others who may not feel as comfortable with the atmosphere.
    And that's all for that.

My Outer Banks experience was somewhat memorable. Nice place. Beautiful scenics. A full description will be coming soon with pictures. But it really wasn't my kinda crowd.
    To summarize:
One young man was surveying the others as to what kind of music should be played. He queried, "Is reggae OK with everyone?"
    ...as 311 began to play.

    Yeeugghhh.....

    Kate & Coz's Housewarming Party!

    Now on cam!

I've learned life doesn't slow down for a blog.
I've learned there's nothing rewarding about using a day off as an oppertunity to get yourself drunk the night before.
I've learned that owning 3 DVD's is NOT enough.
I've learned common sense is really not that common in people.
I've learned a betta fish can go 2 days without eating and still live.
I've learned I'm never going to get around to everything.
I've learned the place I've gotten my hair cut for most of my life will never learn how to give a GOOD haircut.
I've learned the importance of organization.
I've learned oppertunities will eventually come... if you put some effort into it.
I've learned I have a lot more of learning to come. Some of which I'm not looking forward to.

I have a TOOL concert August 12th. It's in Trenton. And there will be more than one memorable experience that night.
    I go on vacation next week -- June 22 - 29th.
I'll be living in a huge house in the Outer Banks of NC with a bunch of teenagers.
    Can we say "whee" ?

My name is Carl. I am a manager. I have an apartment. I have a roomate. I have a casual relationship with someone who *could* be perfect for me, if only I wanted them to be. So I keep looking. I am annoyed by many.
    Many, many, many...

I realize how much I've had to censor myself over the past year or so.
    I wish I didn't... but I don't want to hurt you.

    Ladies and gentlemen....

    I present to you:
    THE MARSHALL HOUSE APARTMENTS

    Things are fine.

    The new job:
Store Manager -- Manoa Shopping Center, Havertown.

I worked 63 hours last week -- my first week.
Already this week I worked 15 hours on Sunday, 13 on Monday and today I had off.
I took on a big job and there's a lot to be done. Organization is my first priority, then training. And training there shall be.

Not much else to say really. Hopefully things will be calming down enough where I can start keeping a blog more regularly.
I'm a tired man and I took up a good few hours getting the pictures up in that fashion. I'm going to bed now.

Hope to see you soon. Stop by my store if you're in the area.

    Sidebar

Hello. I used to have a blog, here, for 6 years up until 2006 when I needed to walk away from it all for a bit. After some time alone and the discovery of Twitter, I've decided to put cozbaldwin.com back into business. Twitter allows me to make brief updates at any time from anywhere. They are the blogs between the blogs. This is especially helpful since I rarely have the motivation to write out entire blogs anymore.
